These distinguished friends of the Capital City Garrison have been recognized for their contributions to community, culture, and the enduring spirit of Star Wars fandom.
Chris Hadfield
Commander Chris Hadfield became an Honorary Garrison Member on July 1, 2014, during Canada Day festivities at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Best known for sharing life aboard the International Space Station with audiences around the world, he was welcomed into the Garrison with an impromptu plaque presentation.
Max Keeping
Ottawa community leader Max Keeping became an Honorary Garrison Member on March 14, 2010, at the annual Max Keeping Bowlathon. The event supported his foundation's work helping financially disadvantaged children and families meet emotional, physical, mental, and emergency needs.
Anthony Forrest
Anthony Forrest became an Honorary Garrison Member on October 10, 2009, during a book signing at the Silver Snail. Star Wars fans know him as the sandtrooper behind one of the saga's most memorable lines: “These aren't the droids we're looking for.”
George Takei
George Takei became an Honorary Garrison Member on April 25, 2009, following the Sci-Fi Spectacular at Ottawa's National Arts Centre. After the concert, he met with members for photos and autographs and received a personalized Capital City gift basket.
